The Best Coffees for Cold Brew
Share
Cold brew is forgiving, but the coffee you choose still makes a big difference. The right beans give you a smooth, sweet, chocolatey batch with almost no bitterness. Here's what to look for and our favorites.
What makes coffee good for cold brew
Cold brew brings out sweetness and body while muting acidity, so it loves medium-dark to dark roasts with chocolatey, nutty, low-acid profiles. Coarse grind is a must — it keeps the batch clean and easy to filter.
